Tran, ODDr. "Kelly" Thai-Lan Tran is a therapeutic optometrist native to Houston. She completed her Doctorate at the University of Houston College of Optometry where she was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, an optometric honor society. She pursued her undergraduate studies at Baylor University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology, with a minor in chemistry. Dr. Tran completed her optometric externship training at the Eye Center of Texas and The Laser Center (TLC) of Houston. During these externships, she received extensive training in primary optometric care as well as pre-operative and post-operative management of glaucoma, cataracts, retinal diseases, and laser vision correction. Dr. Tran practices full scope optometric care with an emphasis in contact lenses. Her training has given her the expertise to perform thorough eye examinations and contact lens fittings, as well as to diagnose and treat most ocular diseases. Dr. Tran also provides consultation and co-management for laser vision correction. In her spare time, Dr. Tran enjoys cooking, traveling, snowboarding, and spending time with her husband and baby daughter. Jenny H. Nguyen, ODDr. Nguyen received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston, with a minor in Psychology, prior to earning her Vision Science degree and Doctorate degree from Nova University College of Optometry. Thereafter, she completed an extensive training program at Heffburn VA Medical Center, North Carolina, where she routinely diagnosed and managed common red eye conditions as well as retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. She then completed additional training in primary care optometry with an emphasis in contact lens fitting and contact lens related complications at McDill Airforce Base and North Miami Clinics, Florida. Dr. Nguyen's clinical training and experience allow her to practice full scope therapeutic optometry. She is committed to providing quality eye care for her patients based on their individual needs. Dr. Nguyen is dedicated to not only educating her patients on their conditions but to also providing them with preventative practices that will enhance their daily lives. Oksana E. Fishel, ODDr. Fishel was awarded her Doctorate degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Prior to Optometry School, Dr. Fishel received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She completed her optometric externship training at Memorial Hermann Eye Center, Bellaire Eye Consultants, and Whitsett Vision Group of Houston. During her extensive training Dr. Fishel focused on diagnosis and treatment of anterior segment disease and glaucoma. Throughout her preparatory years, she showed great interest and aptitude in the diagnosis of retinal disease such as diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. Furthermore, Dr. Fishel was an active part of pre and post-operative treatment of cataract and refractive surgery. Dr. Fishel is a therapeutic and glaucoma certified optometrist. She practices full scope primary care optometry with emphasis in ocular pathology. Her passion for optometry transcends into individualized care for each patient. Outside of her career, Dr. Fishel enjoys literature, traveling, and Bikram Hot Yoga. She also trains for and participates in the Houston Half-Marathons. Dr. Fishel is bilingual with Russian being her native language. Thi Phan Crist, ODDr. Thi Phan Crist received her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and her Doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry. She further went on to receive her Optometric Glaucoma Specialist License. Dr. Crist completed her externship training at St. Joseph Hospital, Hermann Hospital, and Bellaire Eye Associates. The externships involved primary eye care, contact lenses, and ocular diseases. Dr. Crist received extensive training with ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. Before pursuing private practice, Dr. Crist practiced with Macgregor Medical Association where she examined over 10,000 patients. Dr. Crist practices part time and volunteers with One Sight Foundation, where she spends four weeks each year performing eye exams for underprivileged children. Michael is our store manager. He has an extensive lab background and is a skilled optician. Michael coordinates our daily operations and is responsible for staff and patient education. He can answer any questions about the many different lens designs, materials, and coatings that are available and he can recommend the ideal frame and lenses for your eyeglass prescription. Josie is our clinical coordinator. She has worked with luxury eyewear for over 10 years and is knowledgeable in all areas of the optical business. She is an expert optician as well as our insurance specialist. Josie can assist patients with any questions about insurance, eyewear, and contact lenses. Valerie is our ophthalmic and administrative assistant. She will most likely be the friendly voice you hear when you call to schedule an appointment. Valerie is an excellent frame stylist and assists with insurance verification, pretesting, and contact lens instruction. Her sweet personality will ensure that your experience at our office is a pleasant one. Oliver is our lab technician. He is skilled in the assembly and customization of eyewear. He ensures that every pair of eyeglasses is made correctly to the ordered specifications. Oliver also assists the doctor and helps with frame styling and explaining the different lens options that are available. We look forward to serving you! |
